Viktor & Rolf Spring/Summer 2010

Finally something has brought me out of my fashion coma. And it's no surprise it's Viktor & Rolf. I can't even put how I feel about the new collection into words. That's how amazing it is. Throw in a performance by my favorite artist, Róisín Murphy, and you've got a perfect show.

Watch the full show at http://www.viktor-rolf.com. Trust me, you'll be blown away.

Aladdin Sane

I've been feeling so inspired lately. I've been listening to a lot of Bowie and Dead Or Alive. I watched a documentary on Pete Burns of Dead Or Alive yesterday, and he's truly fascinating and inspiring. I love his view on dressing up and glamour. "Clothes are a walking art. We look at pictures on walls in galleries. Why go to a gallery when you can stick it on yourself and walk around?... I like clothes to be kind of uncomfortable, so I know I'm wearing them." Most of my idols are people who have, to some point, become defined by their image. David Bowie, Róisín Murphy, Pete Burns... people who dress up, live glamorously, and don't apologize for it. I'd love a day in their shoes. Or should I say, their six inch Vivienne Westwood platform heels.

Róisín Murphy + Moloko

I've loved Róisín Murphy ever since her days in Moloko. And I loved her first solo album, "Ruby Blue". But it was with her second solo album, "Overpowered", that I became a devout Róisín super fan. It blew me away like no album had done in a long time. If you haven't heard it... you really should. Here's a little megamix featuring the best of Róisín in Moloko and as a solo artist. Long live Miss Murphy.

Tracklist:

1. The Time Is Now
2. Sing It Back (Mousse T ‘I Feel Love’ Remix)
3. Familiar Feeling (Timo Maas Main Mix)
4. Let Me Know (Joey Negro Destination Boogie Mix)
5. Overpowered (Seamus Haji Remix)

Róisín Murphy's Look Book

A short interview with Róisín Murphy talking about her outfit. I like when she says she has to switch up her style because other pop stars are now adopting her avant-garde look. Lady GaGa, I'm looking in your direction.

My Róisín Murphy Illustration

Róisín Murphy is a huge inspiration for me, both her music and her fashion. Here's my drawing of the pop diva, done in ink and colored pencils.
