It's the epic Extended Mix of "Yes Sir" by Goldfrapp. This song has everything I love... it may be a cover, but Alison Goldfrapp turns it into an electro-glam disco gem worthy of Studio 54. Fur Metal Jacket

Last night I had a remarkably detailed dream about a fur coat. It was brown, with a large zipper closure down the front of it. The collar, sleeves, and hem were all embellished with hundreds on tiny, shiny silver spikes that moved and glimmered as it went down the runway. I made a quick sketch of it, as accurately as I could. Click on it for a larger view.

I must have subconsciously been thinking about Gareth Pugh's Fall 2009 Menswear Collection. Many of the clothes were embellished with spikes. Kind of scary, yet very glam.

In anticipation of Madonna's Greatest Hits compilation being released this September, I've been going back and revisiting all my favorite songs from Her Madgesty. So many great songs with so many great memories attached to them. Who can forget the controversy of the "Like A Prayer" video, or the scandal that her "SEX" book caused? And who can forget VOGUE!! And Ray Of Light, Music, and Confessions... I could go on and on.

But here's my favorite Madonna video, "Deeper And Deeper" from the Erotica album. It's an ode to Andy Warhol, Madonna plays Edie Sedgwick in the video. I love it. Enjoy.

I've always been very attracted to the glamour of old Hollywood. I love the look of the 20s and 30s, the drama, the glamour, the perfectly arched brows, enormous lashes, and bowtie lips. I love women in make-up. It's so inspiring, and truly timeless. It doesn't hurt that my idol, Alison Goldfrapp, has adopted the look as her own and given it a modern twist, mixing the classic beauty of old Hollywood with the decadence and excess of disco and Studio 54. The video for "Ooh La La" is perfection. This is the look.

This editorial in WOUND Magazine is very, very much my style. I love every single piece. I want this to be my fall wardrobe! I'm very into blazers and cinching them in at the waist with a great belt. I've been feeling so inspired lately. I've been listening to a lot of Bowie and Dead Or Alive. I watched a documentary on Pete Burns of Dead Or Alive yesterday, and he's truly fascinating and inspiring. I love his view on dressing up and glamour. "Clothes are a walking art. We look at pictures on walls in galleries. Why go to a gallery when you can stick it on yourself and walk around?... I like clothes to be kind of uncomfortable, so I know I'm wearing them." Most of my idols are people who have, to some point, become defined by their image. David Bowie, Róisín Murphy, Pete Burns... people who dress up, live glamorously, and don't apologize for it. I'd love a day in their shoes. Or should I say, their six inch Vivienne Westwood platform heels.

Our first photo shoot for F.A.D. magazine yesterday was phenomenal. The models were great, the location was amazing, and the clothing was fabulous. I made a couple of indulgent purchases today, including a fur coat and a fur cape, among other things. They look amazing on, but I couldn't help but feel a little guilt as I tried them on. I literally had to go into the back room of the shop and find them, as all the fur had been taken off the racks until next winter. The way I see it, they're vintage, they've been pre-loved, and I'm giving them a second lease on life. They could have ended up in the junk bin, now that would have been a real shame.

It may be gray and snowing out, but I'm feeling the Spring Fever. My brain is overloading on oxytoxins. I feel all giddy. I love this time of year, right on the cusp of patio weather, sunshine, and long summer days. It reminds me of being out of school for the summer, carefree, your only concern being how much fun you could pack into the short summer months. I have a feeling this summer will be absolutely amazing. I'm moving into a fab new apartment and our magazine is going to be stellar. I'm impressed that this is all taking off, I really am. Everything is pretty much perfect.

I’m very excited that BON’s Spring/Summer 2009 issue is finally out! BON is one of my favourite high-fashion magazines. It’s based out of Sweden and is published bi-annually (Fall/Winter & Spring/Summer) and to me, it stands out against some of the other fashion mags on the shelf. Ever since Johan Avedal took over as the new art director for BON, I’ve been thoroughly impressed. He changed the logo and changed the whole look of the magazine. Every single page is beautifully designed and you can tell that the folks over at BON have an amazing eye for detail. They even use different paper stocks, from super-glossy to matte paper for the index in the back. And it smells amazing, that crisp new-magazine smell. If you are lucky enough to find an issue, pick it up! Not bad for ten bucks.

Even more exciting, Lou Doillon (her mother is Jane Birkin, her sister is Charlotte Gainsbourg, her step-father is Serge Gainsbourg) is a new contributor to BON magazine. Her illustrations are quite lovely.

While flipping through this month's issue of Interview magazine, I came across the work of artist Francesca Gabbiani. Her meticulously created artwork is made of tiny pieces of cut-out paper. Drawing inspiration from rococo mirror frames, Alice in Wonderland, and the films of director Dario Argento, Francesca's work invites the viewer to come up close and explore. Only then will you see your own face reflected in the black space enclosed in each one of her paper frames.
